His Beloved and Bold Ones: The Kids of The Kingdom and Free-flowing with Spirit and Grace

Romans 8:15
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Galatian 4:6
Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.

Luke 8:16
But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Psalm 68:5
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Aba, What does it mean?
“In Scripture there are many different names used to describe God. The name “Abba Father” is one of the most significant of his names because of how it helps our understanding of his relation to us as people. The word Abba is an Aramaic word that would most closely be translated as “Daddy.” It was a common term that young children would use to address their fathers. It signifies the close, intimate relationship of a father to his child, as well as the childlike trust that a young child puts in his “daddy.”

One Pastor said, this is the type of word you’d hear a baby say when all she wants to do is be picked up so she can nestle herself close to her Father’s neck, not a word a kid would say while trying to work his father for extra allowance. Don’t you see what God has given us? Not just sons and daughters, but truly, he has given us this amazing opportunity to be his children, like Jesus, intimate and close, in complete harmony and love, trusting him. The holy spirit has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes.

This world was made to be overflowing with love, and the reality is, it still is a world of love, but it isn’t true love. It isn’t real love. Love should make us happy, but it often leads us to despair. Sin! Sin did it. Arrogance, the first sin, it broke the order. Many struggle with their family. The Family should be the first church, the place you feel safest, and feel able to practice your faith, but at times, the family is broken. Atlanta Georgia, New York City, they both exhibit this truth.

I can say I lived in both of them and experienced this broken aspect in my family and have seen it in many families in both cities. Though this is my personal testimony, , I boast all the more however in our Father in heaven. The world would say that this is foolish but let no one take me as a fool.

“I repeat: Let no one take me for a fool. But if you do, then tolerate me just as you would a fool, so that I may do a little boasting.”

God IS making me, and you all into something we could never imagine. His love, it changes it all. Jesus says, even the earthly father knows how to give good gifts, so how much more will the perfect father, God in heaven, give to his children who love him? His gifts are grace to us- free and unmerited. And he gave us the spirit such an abundant gift and by him we cry Abba Father. But as his children, his children building his kingdom? How does this all affect us?

The Apostle Paul says it like this in 1 corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

He says that this grace given him, it defines him, and it fuels him- motivates him. He says that this grace was what did it all. “Not I, but the grace of God that was with me”. We step out in faith, belief that we are the children of the Creator, the author of life, and through him, we can do all things. The more we trust in this, the more we operate our lives motivated by these truths.

One Pastor said, he doesn’t believe in retirement. He will work for the kingdom till he dies. He said, if he found out he had a fatal disease, he would go to an Muslim country and preach Jesus till he got his head chopped off. I say this because, he believes that if he’s really dying, this is maybe the last opportunity these people will get to hear the gospel. His belief is that he he has this great message, the gospel, and he has it only by grace. He trusts in that grace till the point that he will stop at nothing to spread it.

I can honestly say that I doubt any of us have this sort of boldness. But don’t feel bad. When we lack, all we have to do is ask.

Hebrews 11:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Our father is there, and he will give us what we need. He will reward us who earnestly seek him, he will give to those who ask, those who seek will find.

So as we pray today, let us pray that we grow so much in this belief as Children of God, longing for our father and his dream. His dream is for everyone to come back to him, to the kingdom. The kingdom belongs to the humble children, like those who sought Jesus. We are all on this journey because of Jesus, because of God, the holy spirit is our confirmation.

Let’s pray: seeking for this great new venture, the OC building and using it with pure hearts. Lets pray for its completion and for it to be used awesomely for many to come back to God. Also, let’s pray that our faith gets built up very strong this year as well.

Again, even people can give good gifts though we are evil, so all the more we should truly trust that God, our perfect loving father will richly bless us for this great walk we are on.
